The Office of Academic Links (Mainland & Regional) [OALMR] of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized a lunch reception on 5 March for visiting scholars and visiting students of CUHK to celebrate the Chinese New Year together. A total of 10 CUHK professors, 30 visiting scholars, and visiting students joined the gathering. They are participating in various visiting programmes coordinated by OALMR, including the Mainland and Taiwan Visiting Scholar Programme, Hong Kong Scholars Programme, Mainland Postdoctoral Sponsorship Programme, and Mainland and Taiwan Visiting Student Programme.
Organised by the Office of Academic Links (Mainland and Regions) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and co-organised by the Mainland Undergraduate Association of CUHK, the “Learning Beyond Borders” Exchange Activity Highlights and Chinese Culture Festival was held from 16 to 17 March 2026 at Yasumoto International Academic Park. Through a wide range of cultural performances, interactive booths, and information displays, the event provided students with an engaging and lively platform to experience Chinese culture while learning more about the latest interflow programmes in the Chinese Mainland.
The activities started with an exhilarating lion dance performance given by the Chinese Martial Arts Society of United College, accompanied by resounding drums. New Asia College Chinese Music Society also delivered a series of traditional Chinese music performances, showcasing the depth and richness of Chinese musical heritage and attracting many students to stop and enjoy. Multiple games and food booths organised by the Mainland Undergraduate Association integrated cultural elements with interactive experiences, allowing students to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. Information booths were set up to introduce various short-term exchange and study programmes in the Chinese Mainland, with assistance on application procedures and programme details.
The Office will organise a series of Chinese Mainland interflow programmes during the coming summer, featuring a wide range of activities such as academic lectures, cultural immersion experiences, technology-focused study programmes, and competitions. Students are encouraged to explore these opportunities and register via the Office’s website at https://www.oalmr.cuhk.edu.hk/en/oalmr-student-interflow/student-interflow-activities-registration/
