CUHK Vice President Attends Innovative Consortium Launch Ceremony in Beijing
Professor Chan Tak‑Cheung Anthony, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), attended the inaugural ceremony of the “Innovation Consortium for Cancer and Degenerative Diseases” held on 4 February in Beijing. The Consortium, initiated by the Changping National Laboratory and comprising 33 state key laboratories, medical institutions, and new research organisations, aims to establish an innovation system integrating basic research plus technological breakthroughs and clinical translation, fostering a collaborative innovation hub and providing robust scientific and talent support for the development of Healthy China.
Professor Chan and CUHK delegates joined senior representatives from the Beijing Municipal Committee, the Municipal Education Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and leading national research organizations to witness the official establishment of the consortium, reinforcing cross-institution cooperation in biomedical innovation. The visit provided a valuable platform for CUHK to deepen exchanges with the Chinese Mainland research partners and explore future collaboration in medical technology, scientific innovation, and talent development.
