The 15th Partnership Steering Committee Meeting between CUHK and Sun Yat-sen University is Held
The 15th meeting of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) -Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) Steering Committee on Partnership Development was held on 21 April 2023. Co-chaired by PVC Prof. Chan Wai-Yee of CUHK and Prof. Xiao Hai-Peng, Provost of SYSU, the meeting brought together more than 40 participants from both universities. Representatives from collaborative teams reported the progress of joint projects in translational oncology, historical anthropology, biotechnology, gastroenterology, behavioral health, mathematics, development of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, rehabilitation engineering, earth sciences and engineering, air pollution, economics and management, Chinese studies and academic links. The meeting reviewed the progress and further discussed expanding the scope of existing cooperation in serving the needs for further development of the Greater Bay Area.
CUHK and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Hold the 5th Partnership Steering Committee Meeting
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) held the 5th Partnership Steering Committee Meeting online on 23 June to discuss future partnership plans. CUHK Vice Chancellor Prof. Rocky Tuan and President of SJTU Prof. Ding Kui-Ling co-chaired the meeting.
VC indicated at the meeting that the bilateral collaboration has been further deepened and joint projects are becoming more diversified. He is looking forward to in-depth cooperation between the two universities, especially in the areas of major national projects. President Prof. Ding pointed out that both universities have a profound history of cooperation that has set a solid foundation for further expansion. Participants reported progress on joint projects in digestive disease, medical robotics, and diabetes. New plans for collaborative degree programmes were discussed at the meeting.
CUHK and SJTU have carried out a wide range of collaborative projects. This meeting enhanced the connection and communication, aspiring to expand new collaborative areas as well as to build a closer platform for partnership development.
