On 26 September, CUHK Innovation Day 2025, themed “AI Empowerment,” was held in Hong Kong and simultaneously connected to CUHK Beijing Centre and CUHK Shanghai Centre, showcasing the University’s latest achievements in innovation and artificial intelligence.
The Shanghai session took place at the CUHK Shanghai Centre, where the exhibition hall livestreamed activities from Hong Kong. The second-floor lecture hall and fourth-floor CUHK InnoPort@Shanghai featured displays and profiles of CUHK-led startups based in Shanghai, offering visitors an in-depth view of CUHK’s cutting-edge research in advancing AI. The event attracted representatives from investment, government, and industry sectors. CUHK members from startup projects and its Knowledge Transfer Office guided participants through interactive tours. Two thematic talks were held on generative AI in capital markets, startup financing strategies, and urban industrial innovation.
The Beijing session was hosted by the Beijing Centre at the Zhongguancun Beijing-Hong Kong Youth Innovation Centre. The activities started with a livestreamed product showcase from CUHK Innovation Day, followed by a viewing of innovation roadshow projects, highlighting achievements in fostering transformative industry-academic partnerships. A key feature of the event was a roundtable discussion, which included introductions of CUHK and the Innovation Centre, and sharing of CUHK alumni in entrepreneurial journeys. The day concluded with networking among over 20 guests from the government, business, and education sectors.
This Hong Kong-Beijing-Shanghai event provided high-quality platforms for entrepreneurs, investors, and academia to exchange ideas, expand collaboration networks, and strengthen CUHK’s innovation ecosystem nationwide, bolstering joint developments in innovation and knowledge transfer.
